Matthew Simone, FNP-BC
I started HomeSteady Health because of my own frustrations getting care and working in the current industrialized healthcare system. I wanted to be able to offer more to my patients without the time restraints and the profit-over-patient care mentality of corporate medicine. With direct primary care, I can provide the time and accessibility that my patients deserve.
Business
I have practiced in healthcare for over 23 years, the last 15 of which have been as a Nurse Practitioner. Family Practice trained, I have had the privilege of caring for patients in the Alaskan bush, as well as in Trauma, Urgent Care and the Emergency Room in fast paced urban environments. Most recently I have practiced in Urgent Care as I helped set-up and lead multiple urgent cares in the Philadelphia area and locally. I have also served in leadership roles on multiple boards and committees inside and outside the medical field throughout my career. I am currently the President for Region 2 of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York.
Pleasure
I enjoy spending time with my family, especially goofing off with my daughters. I refresh by spending as much time as possible in the wilderness of the Finger Lakes region. Hunting. Fishing. Hiking. Exploring a creek bed. I relax by boating on Cayuga Lake with my family as the sun goes down. I tune in by taking in the local music scene - whether that’s a late night at Grassroots or an intimate evening at a local farm. I meditate while growing my own food and tending to my chickens. I stay fit through running, grappling and mixed martial arts.
